Although biscuits tend to tick most boxes most of the time, these only have 4 main ingredients, all of which you will have in your kitchen. And they are easy to make, taste great and they will definitely cheer you up if you have the lockdown blues.
Porridge oats, butter, brown sugar and flour are all you need, plus a couple of egg yolks to bind everything together. But the end result is a wonderful buttery, rich caramel tasting biscuit, crunchy at first before yielding to a chewy middle.
No spices, no golden syrup, just good old plain ingredients where the result is more than the sum of its parts.
